The gateway provides a syslog forwarding option. Gateway-generated syslog messages can be forwarded to an external syslog receiver.

By default, syslog forwarding is disabled. To enable syslog forwarding, you need to configure the external syslog receiver IP address, port number, and protocol in the gateway WebUI Syslog Settings dialog. After entering the receiver information, syslog forwarding is enabled.

You also need to specify a selector. The selector field consists of a facility and a priority separated by a period:

<facility value>.<priority value>

Valid facility values (case-insensitive):

  • *
  • auth
  • authpriv
  • cron
  • daemon
  • kern
  • lpr
  • mail

  • user
  • uucp
  • local0
  • local1
  • local2
  • local3
  • local4
  • local5
  • local6
  • local7

Valid priority values (case-insensitive):

  • *
  • debug
  • info
  • notice
  • warning
  • err
  • crit
  • alert
  • emerg
  • none
