Connectivity failures commonly result from an incorrect endpoint, protocol mismatch, blocked route, untrusted certificate, or invalid credentials.

Checks

  1. Verify the host, port, protocol, and path supplied for the deployment.
  2. Confirm DNS resolution and outbound network access from the actual application or collector environment.
  3. Match the exporter protocol to the receiving endpoint.
  4. Inspect certificate validity, hostname matching, trust chain, and system time.
  5. Confirm that credentials belong to the selected client and have not expired or been revoked.
  6. Review sanitized error text for timeout, connection refused, handshake, certificate, unauthorized, or forbidden results.

Do not disable certificate verification as a production workaround. Install the approved trust chain or correct the endpoint name. Rotate exposed credentials immediately and never include secret values in screenshots or support bundles.
