In the waterfall

An errored span carries an Error badge and is highlighted. The events count in the span Status shows how many events (typically exceptions) were recorded.

In Span Detail

Select the span → the events list shows the recorded exception(s) — commonly exception.type, exception.message, and (when your instrumentation records it) exception.stacktrace. Additional context (status code, request parameters) appears under Attributes.

Confirm with logs

Use Related Resources → Logs (or View Related Logs on the trace header) to read the pod’s log lines for the same window and match the exception.
