OpsRamp uses UEM CLI commands to discover and monitor a EMC VNXe device.OpsRamp configurationConfiguration involves:Creating credentials.Configuring the integration.Adding a discovery profile.Step 1: Create a credentialTo create credentials:From All Clients, select a client.Go to Setup > Accounts > Clients.On the client’s Credentials tab, add the credential information.The following describes some of the credential settings:Type: EMC VNXeUser type:Local: Provide the username in general username format.LDAP User: Provide the username in domain/username format.LDAP Group: Provide the username in domain/username format.Use Password Vault: If enabled, specify Policy Mapping, otherwise, specify a password.Policy mapping enables integration of a Password Manager application with credentials.Password is the authentication password to access a resource.Step 2: Configure the integrationTo integrate:From All Clients, select a client.Go to Setup > Integrations > Integrations.From Available Integrations, select Storage > EMC VNX and click Install.Provide the following:NameIP AddessCredentials. Select an existing credential or create a new credential.Click Save.Step 3: Add a discovery profileTo add a discovery profile:From the integration, click Add.Provide the following information:Profile details.Profile nameSelect profileIP addressFilter criteriaSmart filters: Use to filter resources based on the resource type.Resource filters: Use to filter resources based on certain resource attributes.Perform actions: Manage DeviceDiscovery schedule. Based on the settings, discovery is triggered based on the scheduled time. New resources added to the environment are automatically discovered.Click Save.From the Discovery Profiles section, click Scan Now for the associated profile.VNXe configurationTraps must be enabled on the VNXe resource.To enable traps:Log into VNXe Unisphere.Go to Settings > More Configuration > Alert Settings and click Add.Provide the details for SNMP trap.IP address of the VG, port as 162 and VG’s SNMP v3 credentialsUsername: monitoringuserAuthentication Protocol: MD5Password: monitoring@123Privacy Protocol: NoneClick OK and then click Apply Changes.Click Send Test SNMP Trap.What to do nextAfter a discovery profile is created, you can do the following:View the integration: Go to Infrastructure > Storage.Assign monitoring templates to the resource.Validate that the resource was successfully added to OpsRamp.
