Configure SNMP traps
You can add to the list of SNMP-enabled device traps to monitor:
Follow these steps to configure SNMP traps:
To select your client, navigate to All Clients, and click the Client/Partner dropdown menu.
Note: You may either type your client’s name in the search bar or select your client from the list.Navigate to Setup > Account. The Account Details screen is displayed.
Click Integrations. The Installed Integrations screen is displayed with all the installed applications.
Note: If you do not have any installed applications, you will be navigated to the Available Integrations page with all the available applications along with the newly created application.Click +ADD on the Installed Integrations page.
Note: Search for the integration either by entering the name of the integration in the search bar or by selecting the category of the integration from the All Categories dropdown list.Click ADD in the SNMP Traps Configuration application tile.
Enter the following information and click FINISH:
GENERAL DETAILSField Name Description Field Type Name Enter a unique, descriptive monitor name. String EXCLUDE OR INCLUDE OIDs: Include or exclude specific OIDs you want to monitor by selecting EXCLUDE OIDs or INCLUDE OIDs and entering the OIDs.
Note
You can either include OIDs or exclude OIDs. You cannot mix including and excluding OIDs. When you enter the OIDs in INCLUDE OIDs field, the rule specification is displayed as ‘INCLUDE’ and ‘EXCLUDE’ for EXCLUDE OIDs field.If you want to add new OIDs to include or exclude, you can add them manually or import a CSV file.

- Enter the OID and click +
During the manual entry, you cannot add empty, duplicate, or invalid OIDs.
- Select EXCLUDE OIDs or INCLUDE OIDs.
- Create a CSV file containing the OIDs. The CSV file has one column with OIDs as the heading followed by one OID per line after the heading:
- Click the import icon and click Upload JSON File.
- Select the CSV file and click IMPORT. Note: When you upload a CSV file, the OIDs in the CSV file will replace any OIDs already included or excluded in the SNMP trap monitor.
FILTERS: In the FILTERS section, choose an option for receiving or discarding traps.
Option Description Action Receive traps from all resources. Traps are received from all resources. N/A Receive traps from specified resource groups only. Traps are received from selected resource groups. From the Resource Groups dropdown, select the resource group (or) groups. To select all groups, click Select All. Receive traps from specified resources only. Traps are received from selected resources. From the Assigned Resources dropdown, select the resource (or) resources.
You can use the ADVANCED SEARCH option to search for resources.- Click ADVANCED SEARCH.
- In the RESOURCE FILTER window, select resources. Alternatively, click +QUERY, provide OpsQL query, and select resources.
- Click APPLY.
Note: The maximum resources you can select is 50.
Discard traps from specific IP addresses. Traps are discarded from specific IP addresses. For traps that you want to discard, enter the resource IP address(es) in IP Address dropdown and press "Enter." ADDITIONAL SETTINGS: The Process all interface traps checkbox has been introduced in SNMP configurations to disable non-monitoring SNMP trap interfaces. The checkbox is set false by default.
- Select the checkbox to process both monitoring and non-monitoring interfaces.
After clicking FINISH, the integration is installed and displayed on the Installed Integrations page. Use the search icon to search the installed integration.
