Overview

The Gateway-managed OpenTelemetry (OTel) Collector enables centralized syslog log collection and processing through the OpsRamp NextGen Gateway. It allows you to collect, filter, and forward logs securely from your environment to the OpsRamp platform for analysis.

Earlier, syslog integration in OpsRamp focused only on alert-based processing, where syslog messages were evaluated against rules to generate alerts. With the Gateway-managed OTel Collector, you can ingest and store logs in addition to alerting, providing better visibility and analysis capabilities.
