Introduction

Elastic Job agents run and manage scheduled T-SQL jobs across one or many Azure SQL databases. A SQL Job Agent is provisioned on an Azure SQL server and is discovered as a dependency of its parent SQL Server.

Use the OpsRamp Azure Public Cloud integration to discover Azure SQL Job Agents and collect metrics.

Setup

To set up the Azure integration and discover Azure SQL Job Agent resources:

  1. Create an Azure integration if one is not already available in your installed integrations. See Install Azure Integration.
  2. Create a discovery profile. See Create Discovery Profile.
  3. On the Edit Discovery Profile page, select SQL Job Agents under Filter Criteria.
  4. Save the discovery profile to make it available in the discovery profile list.
  5. Run a scan to discover resources, independently of the predefined schedule.
  6. After the scan completes, view Azure SQL Job Agent resources under Infrastructure > Resources > Microsoft Azure. The SQL Job Agent appears as a dependency of its parent Azure SQL Server.
