Introduction

Azure DNS Private Resolver is a fully managed, cloud-native service that lets you query Azure DNS private zones from on-premises and route DNS traffic between on-premises and Azure without deploying and managing VM-based DNS servers.

Use the OpsRamp Azure Public Cloud integration to discover and collect metrics for Azure DNS Private Resolvers.

Setup

To discover Azure DNS Private Resolver resources:

  1. Create an Azure integration if one is not already installed. See Install Azure Integration for installation instructions.
  2. Create a discovery profile. See Create Discovery Profile for instructions.
  3. On the Edit Discovery Profile page, select DNS Private Resolvers under Filter Criteria.
  4. Save the discovery profile so it is available in the list of discovery profiles.
  5. Run a scan to discover resources, either on demand or according to the predefined schedule.
  6. After the scan completes, view the Azure DNS Private Resolver resources under Infrastructure > Resources > Microsoft Azure.
