Introduction
An AWS Direct Connect virtual interface (VIF) is a logical connection created on top of an AWS Direct Connect connection. Virtual interfaces provide access to AWS services and are discovered and monitored as children of their parent Direct Connect connection.
AWS Direct Connect supports three types of virtual interfaces:
- Private virtual interface: Provides access to an Amazon VPC using private IP addresses.
- Public virtual interface: Provides access to public AWS services, such as Amazon S3, using public IP addresses.
- Transit virtual interface: Provides access to one or more Amazon VPC Transit Gateways associated with Direct Connect gateways.
Setup
To set up the AWS integration and discover the service, go to the AWS Integration Discovery Profile and select Direct Connect Virtual Interfaces.
Event support
CloudTrail event support
- Supported and configurable in the AWS Integration Discovery Profile.
