What is an SNMP Discovery Definition
An SNMP Discovery Definition defines how OpsRamp identifies and categorizes an SNMP-enabled device. It maps a device’s unique identifier (sysObjectID) to attributes such as Make, Model, Operating System, Device Type, and other device attributes.
Global SNMP Discovery Definitions
This page contains contains the overall list of SNMP discovery definitions currently supported in OpsRamp:For more information, refer to the following sheet.
Supported SNMP Discovery DefinitionsProactive Discovery Definitions
This sub-sheet contains SNMP discovery definitions that have been added proactively based on vendor MIBs and product documentation.
Proactive Discovery Definitions Limitations and Assumptions
These proactive SNMP discovery definitions were not validated on real devices and were created using vendor MIBs and product documentation. As a result, attributes such as serial number, firmware version, hardware version, and software version may be incomplete or inaccurate for some models.
Recommended Templates
The following templates are recommended across all supported SNMP devices:
These generic templates are expected to work for all devices.
In addition, most device-specific templates currently available in OpsRamp should work for their corresponding device models. However, some templates may not be fully compatible with certain devices due to firmware version differences, device-specific functionality limitations, or vendor-side MIB updates.
For all available templates, refer to Recommended Templates.
