Risks, Limitations & Assumptions
- The integration can manage critical/recovery failure alerts for the following two scenarios when the user activates App Failure Notifications in the settings:
- Connectivity Exception
- Authentication Exception
- HPE StoreOnce sends any duplicate/repeat failure alert notification for every 6 hours.
- Latest snapshot metric is available from Gateway version 14.0.0.
- Using metrics for monitoring the resources and generating alerts when the threshold values are breached.
- HPE StoreOnce cannot control monitoring pause/resume actions based on above alerts
- Component level thresholds can be configured on each resource level.
- The Template Applied Time will only be displayed if the collector profile (Classic and NextGen Gateway) is version 18.1.0 or higher.
- HPE StoreOnce Event/Alert polling will be started only if the user enables Event/Alert Polling in configuration.
Note: Here, event/alert polling support is given for HPE StoreOnce Alerts only.
- When a status value which presents in the Event/Alert Cleared Status field occurs, OpsRamp will create an Ok alert accordingly. Otherwise, we will create an alert based on Event/Alert Severity Filter & Event/Alert Severity Mappings of Event/Alert Polling configurations.
- Possible HPE StoreOnce Alert Severity Filter configuration are Active,Cleared,Locked,None.
- We have given default mappings to map HPE StoreOnce Severity with OpsRamp Severities as part of Alert Severity Mapping configuration.
- Users can modify them as per their usecase at any point of time from the application configuration page. Possible OpsRamp Severities are Critical, and Warning, Ok, Info.
- The metrics
hpe_storeonce_system_DataDiskUtilisation,hpe_storeonce_system_datadisk_Utilisation, andhpe_storeonce_system_osdisk_Utilisationwere identified as incorrect metrics for collecting data disk utilization information. As a result, these metrics were removed from product version 8.0.0 to prevent incorrect data collection. - Additionally, new metrics,
hpe_storeonce_system_datadisk_IoUtilisationandhpe_storeonce_system_osdisk_IoUtilisation, were introduced in version 8.0.0 to provide data and OS volume I/O utilization monitoring. - For customers using cloned templates created from earlier versions, an automatic template merge during upgrade will create a new template containing the latest updates. However, the merged template may still retain the deprecated
hpe_storeonce_system_DataDiskUtilisation,hpe_storeonce_system_datadisk_Utilisation, andhpe_storeonce_system_osdisk_Utilisationmetrics from the older template version. While monitoring for this deprecated metric will no longer occur, the metric entry itself is not automatically removed. In such cases, the customer must manually remove the deprecated metric from the template. - Customers using the Global Template are not impacted by this behavior, as the template is automatically updated with the latest metric definitions and does not retain the deprecated metric.
- Changed Warning and Critical Thresholds for status metrics
hpe_storeonce_system_nic_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_port_Status,hpe_storeonce_cat_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_cpu_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_ilomodule_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_fan_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_hba_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_hbaPort_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_memorydimm_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_powersupply_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_storagecluster_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_storagecontroller_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_iocachemodule_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_pool_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_volume_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_filesystem_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_driveenclosure_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_drive_Status,hpe_storeonce_system_tempsensor_Status,hpe_storeonce_storagecluster_HardwareStatus,hpe_storeonce_storagecluster_Status,hpe_storeonce_storagecontroller_Status,hpe_storeonce_storage_supercapacitor_ChargeStatus,hpe_storeonce_storage_supercapacitor_Status,hpe_storeonce_storage_iocachemodule_Status,hpe_storeonce_storage_port_Status,hpe_storeonce_storage_managedcable_Status,hpe_storeonce_storage_driveenclosure_Status,hpe_storeonce_storage_enclosureport_Status,hpe_storeonce_storage_enclosureprocessor_Status,hpe_storeonce_storage_iomodule_Status,hpe_storeonce_storage_mgmtprocessor_Status,hpe_storeonce_storage_powersupply_Status,hpe_storeonce_storage_fan_Status,hpe_storeonce_storage_drive_Status, andhpe_storeonce_storage_tempsensor_Status. For Global Templates, these changes will automatically apply, but for cloned templates these changes will not apply, and the customer must modify the thresholds manually.
